Steve Jang

Steve is the Founder and Managing Partner at Kindred Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital fund investing in technology startups based in San Francisco. In 2023, he was featured in the Forbes’ Midas List as one of the top 50 tech venture capital investors in the world. Steve served as an early advisor and angel investor since founding at Uber and was an early backer of Blue Bottle Coffee (acq OTCMKTS: NSRGY), Coinbase, Color Health, dYdX, Humane, Tonal, Poshmark (NASDAQ: POSH), Postmates (acq NYSE: UBER), Whisper Aero, Zora, and more than 80 other startups in themes around the consumer internet, software, AI, crypto/web3, and frontier/deep technologies. Over the course of his investing career, Steve has backed nine $1B+ valuation companies, three of which are publicly-traded companies today.

As an entrepreneur, Steve was the co-founder or founding team member of several startups in the 2000s/2010s in media streaming, communities, and developer tools, including Bitski, SoundTracking (acq Rhapsody) and imeem (acq MySpace). In the film and entertainment space, Steve is an executive producer of documentary films, digital art collections, music videos including the recently released “Nam June Paik: Moon Is The Oldest TV” and an upcoming film about Ethereum and its community, as well as music videos for J Dilla and The Strokes.
